SCMA awards financial aid grants to selected students of Mapua Institute of Technology, local scholarship grants children and grand children of active SCMA, and to active members pursuing post-graduate studies . SCMA awarded three local scholarships in 2012. Ms.
Shirley Hernandez, PE who has served SCMA in various positions through
the years was awarded a $500 financial grant for her MSQA studies at the
Cal State University Dominguez Hills. Mr. Berwyn Salazar who was elected as the Treasurer for 2013-2014 and who has served SCMA in various positions over
the years was also awarded a $500 financial grant for his MBA studies
with focus on Sustainability at the San Francisco Institute of
Architecture. Lastly, Mark Santa Isabel, the son of SCMA's former
Traesurer Amie Santa Isabel was also awarded a $500 financial grant. He
is currently taking up BS Education in Los Angeles Valley College. He
wants to be an Elementary School Teacher because he enjoys being around
kids. He is currently working part time at the Boys and Girls Club of
SCMA Scholars 2013 - Mr. Berwyn Salazar, Treasurer of SCMA visited Mapua on June 7, 2013 and had a meet and greet with new, current, and recently graduated SCMA Scholars. In photo (L-R) are C. The newly graduated scholars described their experiences in topping the recently concluded Civil Engineering board exam and their success in finding new jobs at some of the top construction/engineering firms such as DMCI and Balfour Beatty which served as an inspiration for the current and newly awarded scholars.
SCMA Scholars Graduate with Honors and Tops the Board CE Board Exams - Lamberto Marcial, Jr. is one of three SCMA scholars who recently graduated Cum Laude and was the 4th placer in the recently concluded Civil Engineering Board Exam. All SCMA scholars were provided with free review classes by various review centers and received gifts from Mapua for their stellar performance in the board exam. Engr. Marcial is currently finalizing his negotiations with a major engineering/construction company for his compensation package and will start working soon.
Lorenz Lugatiman was 6th placer in the recently concluded CE board exam. Engr. Lugatiman will soon be on his first assignment at the Bangui Wind Power Generation Project in Ilocos Norte for Balfour Beatty, an international engineering firm with major projects in all four corners of the globe. He will be involved in several alternative energy projects for Balfour Beatty during his orientation and will soon be assigned permanently on one of their major upcoming projects.
Reyes, Jr. who was 11th placer in the CE board exam will work at DMCI as an engineer in one of their high rise projects in Makati and is considering teaching at Mapua on a
part time basis.

Hello and Good day to all.
Its been a long time now that i haven't check SCMA site and i read the updates from your profile. Maam/Sir can i update my profile i took CHE 4 1/2 and graduated as rank 5 for batch 1999.
I owe great debt to SCMA for they serve as a great help through my entire college days. I've circle around asia now working as Project Engineer on a PCB company, ive been to Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, China and now im at Taiwan working on the same field.
